Delia Hopkins has a four-year-old daughter named Sophie, is the fiancee to Eric Talcott, is the daughter of Andrew Hopkins, and does search-and-rescue for a living. Her life completely transforms when the police show up at her doorstep and arrest her father for kidnapping.
One thing I liked about Jodi Picoult's writing was that she wrote each chapter with the perspective of a different character. It was interesting to read a book that wasn't just in the first person or the third person and it was unique to have all angles shown throughout the book.
Honestly, I think the book could have ended 50-75 pages earlier than it did. A lot of the story was repetitive but I was able to learn a little more about the "court setting" and what a lawyer has to go through.
